What happened?
I missed the game today as my boys team were in a tournament.
Couldn't believe it when people were updating me with the score so what the fuck went wrong?

We didn't defend very well.

Re: What happened?
Slaven persisted with playing Antonio at right back (im not blaming Antonio though as I think Reid at the moment is more of a liability). Swansea targeted the right side of our defence and it paid off. we looked sluggish in midfield and didn't take our chances. not the end of the world but was a disappointing performance against the understrength sheep shaggers

We were poor. Kept fluffing it up front.

They defended well and counter attacked well.

Re: What happened?
Today West Ham United did what West Ham United do, and have always done. We were on the brink of something amazing, we peeped over the edge, then we fell in with a familiar sickening thud.

Still, there's always next year..........

It's still been a fantastic season and one that has far exceeded our expectations, we still have a shot at European qualification, we are miles away from where we were last year, but that will be forgotten by some if we suffer the shame of finishing 6th.

Italian coach preparing game looks at our defensive set up....'hmmm, I'll have some of that, thank you very much.'

BBC graphic on the live feed showed Antonio's average position for the 1st half. Ahead of our midfield. Not his fault but he's not a full back.

He was also our best attacking player by far, which is worth thinking about for a second.

Anyway, it went wrong today for Slaven. Disappointing but to read the threads on here, some of this lot must have been supporting West Ham for about 5 minutes.

Re: What happened?
It looked like they were all out on the piss, celebrating Payet's success, patting each other on the back telling each other how good they are
They thought they would just need to turn up & Swansea would roll over for them
Swansea had already sussed out that by playing a high energy game, we would not cope playing such a lightweight midfield, especially on the right with the lazy Moses not prepared to track back, leaving makeshift RB Antonio cruelly exposed
Bilic got the tactics & team selection horribly wrong
Everyone played badly, Swansea got everything right & put in a good professional performance

Moses couldn't part his legs let alone the sea !!!

Re: What happened?
Didn't see the game, was Creswell at CB at any point?!

Well if this has shown Slaven he needs a 1st choice specialist RB then it's worth it. I feel for Antonio, he doesn't deserve any criticism from this, this was the managers fault

Hopefully lesson learned. Otherwise Tues will be a very painful end to 112 years of history

That suggest to me he is at least partly to blame. Fine if you are put in a position you are not good at and you screw up, of course the manager is to blame, but clearly Antonio can play there but has opted to desert his post more than he should.

Re: What happened?
To me it looked like Antonio was playing the right side on his own.

No idea where Moses was during the 60 mins he was on.

Re: What happened?
There were even occasions where Antonio overlapped Moses only for the cross to find Carroll strolling up ten yards away.

Re: What happened?
At one point we went 3-5-2 and Antonio pushed up into a more advanced role, skinned their left back a couple of times, looked very dangerous and then got pushed back when emineke came on, just showed to me that he must be played in an advanced role. He just makes things happen.

Spot on. Said to my brother before the game today that I wouldn't put a fucking penny on us to win today. Every single time West Ham are ever expected to win a game handy we fuck it up and get beaten.

Been happening for decades, why should it stop now

Re: What happened?
I see Moses is getting slagged off whilst Antonio gets absolved of any blame.

Moses was our best player in the first half (although that's not saying much), and Antonio looked like he couldn't be bothered in the lead up to their third.

Bilic's substitutions were fucked up. He hooks Moses, thus removing the only strength we were showing up the middle, when he should have taken off Lanzini, who was offering nothing.

They must have had a fucking good drink the other night, because most of them looked hungover.

Fuck me I always thought you were just misunderstood on here. You thought Moses was our best player? He was a lazy waste of space and I can't believe he stayed on after half time.

Antonio fucked up for at least one of their goals but the bloke isn't a right back, you can always count on him to put 100% effort in and that's why people are more lenient with him.
